Year 7 Art Exhibition

Year 7 artists exhibited their work in our Art Gallery last Friday (6 February). Head of Art, Miss Hannah Gardner explains,

“This exhibition celebrates the perseverance, experimentation and practice that has resulted in these delightful watercolour paintings by Year 7.  This topic began with understanding colour theory, mark-making and paint application, and after studying David Hockney’s landscape paintings, students took their own photographs and digitally edited them before spending a few weeks creating their own paintings.  This is the very start of their art journey at Pate’s and already you can see individual, creative voices emerging.  We are looking forward to seeing where their journey takes them next!”

Year 7 artist Zoe said,
“I enjoyed seeing all of the artworks from the other houses because we don’t normally get to see them, and it was nice to see their watercolour landscape paintings of the photos that they took.”
